Which one is better intel pentium, intel xeon, intel duo?
Please be descriptive and i really am more concerned about the xeon one, thanks
First of all, all the Pentiums are outdated, except for "Pentium Dual Core".
Xeons is for servers, not for home/office usage, and costs a lot. It won't offer better performance if you use it at home, and you'll be paying more.1
Intel Core 2 Duo is best for home usage. It uses Core architecture, which is better than older Netburst architecture. Pentium Dual Core (which, as I stated above is the only Pentium which is not outdated), also uses Core architecture, but is slower than a Core 2 Duo.
So, for home/office usage, Core 2 Duo is the best, followed by Pentium Dual Core. Any other Pentium brand (that is, Pentium 4, Pentium D, Pentium 4 EE, Pentium Gold Edition, etc.) is outdated and there is no point in using them.
If you're interested in servers and not home usage:
Xeon is the best. Xeon also come in two architecture flavors - Core architecture and Nehalem architecture. Nehalem architecture is better and also costs more. But it performs 2-3 times better than Core architecture.
If you want even more high end home/office processors, you should check out Core 2 Quads, and Core i7 processors. i7 are Nehalem based so are even better than Core 2 Quads.
