Chrome OS Will Strike The Sector In Cr-48 Notebook

Consumers waiting for Google's Chrome OS to hit a notebook near them will have to wait until mid-2011 for the Cr-48 Chrome Laptop, writes Mashable. While that might be a sour note to Christmas shoppers this year, Google followers are willing to wait. Once the Cr-48 surfaces for customers, Microsoft and Apple may have to be ready.

Cr-48 Chrome Laptop currently in beta screening

An exclusive pilot program was launched by Google so the Cr-48 Chrome OS Laptop might be tested. While Google says the program is currently open to certain individuals, businesses, schools, non-profits and developers in the United States, the truth is that beta testers will each receive a Cr-48 laptop, so the numbers will likely be somewhat low. All applicants have to be 18 years or older. There could be an expectation that Google will be able to get detailed feedback from participants. This would come regularly. Google warns within the official Cr-48 Chrome Notebook beta testing notice that the platform is Web-based and does not run “any legacy PC software,” and that “the pilot program isn't for the faint of heart,” in that there may be significant bugs in the system.

Many of us on the web more than required

The Cr-48 Chrome Notebook isn’t something for Gamers. Google was not making the target. A Chrome OS notebook would be exactly what is needed by most customers considering most people use computers specifically online with web browsers, social media and other cloud elements.
