The 2009 Ashes Series Between England & Australia
The 2009 Ashes series between Britain and Australia will mark the newest chapter in an old competition between the 2 oldest Test countries in Cricket.
Arguably the most important, and captivating Test series on the Cricketing calendar, the Ashes began in 1882 thanks to an obituary published in English paper, 'The Sporting times' stating that English cricket had died following England's loss to Australia in the 1882 series at the Oval.
From then on, the British made it their duty to get back the Ashes from the clutches of an Australian side that would later build itself as the best Cricketing country on the planet.
Names like Mark Taylor, Merv Hughes, Shane Warne, David Boon, Ian Healy, Alan Border, Glenn McGrath and Steve Waugh would see Australia rule the Ashes from 1989 to 2003.
England finally regained the Ashes in 2005 in front of the British steadfast, with many labelling that particular test series as one of the most stimulating in living memory.
Despite the surge in confidence from the British , they were brought solid in fantastic fashion by the Australians in the 2006-07 series, losing all 5 Test matches to once more surrender the Urn.
Since that meek surrender, Britain has since tried hard to copy their 2005 Ashes form, plunging to 6th in the ICC Test rankings.
After regaining the Ashes in 2006/07 however, Australia went on to win a record equalling sixteen consecutive Test matches, a sequence stopped by a loss to India in Perth during the 2007/08 summer.
Since then, the supremacy held by Australia in Test Cricket has been severely challenged, after they suffered a home series loss to SA early this year.
With criticism coming from all angles, a lot of people requested Shane Warne to come out of retirement and lead Australia's failing charge to the 2009 Ashes series.
Although England's current form guide at the moment is far from good, the 2009 Ashes represents a large opportunity for the team to produce their best Cricket when it truly counts, and add to what should be another classic series.

Could my computer play newer games?
Gigabyte 750a SLI motherboard
AMD 6400 X2 3.2 ghz
Nvidia 8800 GT
Creative X-Fi sound card
4 gigs Patriot Viper Series memory @ 800 mhz
Antech 550 watt PSU
whole system cost 500-600$ to build
3Dmark score was 11,500
is 550 watts enough for 2 8800 GT's?
Games I play now...Crysis Warhead, GTA 4. Both seem to play over 30 FPS on Mid High Settings.
I have a 9800 GT 1 GB but it seems to be underclocking itself..and i got a 6,600 on 3Dmark with it...;( Though the 9800 is essentially a 8800 re-packaged.
go to this link: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
it will check your system and let you know if it will run any game you want.
most newer games dont require any more than an 8600GT spec card or better. You'll probably be minimum on alot of specs for new games with your current system, but they will run none the less.
also, the 9800GTX/GTX+ is 2 8800 series gpus in tandem aswell as dual DDR3 RAM - I run 1 9800gtx atm and will be adding sli soon.
as for the low 3dMark of 6600..... try lowering your PCIE buss speed to 3000. That should help. Also, using nTune, adjust your gpu settings manually OC'ing your card. Your mobo should be able to support the under clock of the PCIe buss. And go to nVidia and update the graphics drivers. Yours are probably grossly outdated if your only running on the supplied driver disk. www.nvidia.com/
