Which would be the best choice?
I have two computers at home and I'm suposse to give one to my little brother. I'm trying to keep the best one for me so which one would that be?
#1 is a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 5 - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz - 3.20GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM. with a RADEON X850 series Graphics card.
#2 is a Dell XPS 600 - Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00GHz - 2.99GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM. with a NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX graphics card.
I notice that #2 runs everything faster and smother than #1 even though they are both suposse to have dual-processors. I use the first one mostly checking stuff on the internet or playing a mmorpg. This are the requierements for the game, http://flyff.gpotato.com/community/?m=download
I would like to also ask if it would be possible to simple change the NVIDIA graphics card to the first computer as that one seems to have the faster processor.
The first one is more outdated. It has a single core processor that may run like a dual core if Hyperthreading is enabled in BIOS. RAM is only 1GB and the X850 graphics card only supports the old Shader 2.0.
The second one has a real dual core and double the RAM size. Geforce 7800GTX is a pretty good graphics card that supports Shader 3.0. It was a high-end card during its time. Keep this one.
Both cards can be interchanged, just install the correct driver. The first one has a slightly faster single core but its RAM would be the bottleneck. Also, when Hyperthreading of the first processor is enabled, it tends to run HOT.
