Why does an alarm sound on my Motherboard about five minutes into playing Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 & 2?
I have a AMD 64 Athalon Dual Core 6000+
Gigabyte Motherboard
4 gigs of Corsair ram
9600 w/1gig N-vidia card
Running WinXP Pro
I think it might be a heat issue but some think its Memory.
Please advise.
Heat issue or Power supply issue
If it was a memory issue, you would be getting runtime errors or else the game would slow to a crawl.
To test for heat issues (the easy way), take the side off your computer and put a fan pointing towards the inside fo the case and see if it takes longer to make the alarm.
As for the Power Supply, how many watts PSU do you have, if it is less than 500wats, that is your prolem -- alot of store bought machines, have a PSU that is "just good enough" to run the hardware, so when you add anything to the machine...
